Floating glass shelves come with a variety of anchor styles that differ in weight bearing capability and design. Installation may vary depending on the type of anchor system chosen, so consult the manufacturer’s recommendations.

At Ironmongery Experts, we have a variety of glass floating shelves available, including satin stainless steel glass shelves, polished chrome glass shelves and clear glass shelves. Bear in mind that both the design and thickness of glass will play a big role in the overall weight that the shelves can carry, so you should choose shelves according to your requirements. If you require advice, contact our team today.
When thinking about the placement of your glass shelves, you should consider the height of the items you want to display on them and how easily you want to access them.
Once you’ve figured out the perfect placement for your shelves, hold them against the wall and mark the centre point of each shelf holder. Next, use a level to mark a horizontal line across these centre points and make sure that everything is level.
- Drill holes
Before starting to drill into the wall, ensure that there are no electrical wires on the wall. Then, drill your holes in the intersection of the vertical and horizontal lines. Insert the wall anchors in the holes and screw in the brackets into the wall anchors.
- Mount shelves
Check that everything is level, tighten the screws and place the shelves on top of the brackets.
