Ex-metalwork teacher and joiner Mark Underhill and his wife bought a small ironmongery business in 1996. However, two years later, Mark decided to create his own range of traditional handmade ironmongery, and so From the Anvil was born. The brand soon launched their first product brochure containing around fifty handcrafted products, and the rest is history.

Forward to 2022, From the Anvil continues to hand-forge most of their ironmongery from steel.
