Installation & Maintenance

The plate is positioned on the door edge at each hinge location and used as a template to mark and mortice the door to the depth of the plate. Once the mortice is cut and cleaned of any shavings or swarf, the plate is repositioned, the fixing holes marked and pilot drilled, and the plate secured with the screws provided. The same process is then repeated on the frame side, using the fitted door plates as a reference for marking the frame mortices, with the hinge leaf slotting into the plate.

Once the door is hung, the adjustable stud is fitted into each plate with the raised bump aligned to the neutral (0) position. The plates on every hinge must be fitted with the same orientation, and the door should not be drilled into once the product is installed.

To adjust the door, remove the stud from the plate nearest the affected area and turn it to the required position before refitting: 0 is neutral, +1 and +2 increase the gap by 1mm and 2mm respectively, and -1 decreases the gap by 1mm. Adjust all plates on the door to match, checking the door for smooth operation.

For ongoing care, check that plates remain securely fixed and correctly aligned at least once a year, and keep the stud mechanism free of dirt or debris so it turns smoothly.
